Autonomous Vehicle Operations Services

AVOS is an emerging AGO initiative exploring the operating network behind autonomous mobility — connecting autonomous assets with the physical infrastructure, standardized intervention, and human support they still require.

Overview

The network is the opportunity.

Autonomous vehicles will still require physical intervention. What may change is how that intervention is delivered. AVOS is being developed around a three-layer model: distributed service infrastructure positioned around fleet demand, standardized processes for returning vehicles to service, and ultimately an orchestration layer connecting autonomous assets with the physical response they require.

The result is more than a place vehicles go for service. It is an operating network for autonomous assets.

the operating layer
01

Distributed Infrastructure

Mobility hubs and qualified service nodes positioned around autonomous fleet density rather than tied to a single centralized depot.

02

Vehicle Readiness

Repeatable processes for inspection, cleaning, maintenance, exception handling, and returning autonomous assets to revenue service.

03

Human Intervention

A physical response layer for the situations autonomy cannot resolve alone, from vehicle recovery and damage to rider-generated exceptions.

04

Orchestration

A future digital layer connecting fleet requirements with the right intervention, service capability, and location.

Context

Built for a different kind of fleet.

The autonomous mobility market may not be dominated solely by a handful of vertically integrated operators. It may also include independent fleet owners, hotels, campuses, commercial operators, mobility platforms, institutional asset owners, and eventually individuals managing only a small number of autonomous vehicles. Those owners may have the capital to own autonomous assets — but not the scale to build dedicated operations infrastructure around them.

AVOS is being conceived for that gap.
